Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda will lead the national touring cast of the Broadway musical In the Heights in a performance of the song “96,000” on FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance, to be aired on Thursday, July 8.
The 2008 Tony Award winner for best musical, In the Heights is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler. Featuring music and lyrics by Miranda, and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, the musical focuses on the tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan and the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition.
Miranda is currently starring in the national tour engagement of the musical at Los Angeles’ Pantages Theatre, through July 11.
