Lesli Margherita returns to the cast of Matilda The Musical tonight to re-create her performance as Mrs. Wormwood, the role she originated on Broadway in 2013.

Margherita departed the production on September 6, 2015, to join the Broadway cast of Dames at Sea, and now returns to Matilda at the Shubert Theatre for the remainder of the run, which ends on January 1, 2017. She takes over for Amy Spanger, who served as Margherita's first replacement as Mrs. Wormwood.

Featuring a Tony-winning book by Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, Matilda is inspired by Roald Dahl's novel of the same name and tells the story of a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, and psychokinetic powers. The production, directed by Matthew Warchus, has sets and costumes by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, and sound by Simon Baker.

The current cast currently features Ava Briglia, Willow McCarthy, and Aviva Winick, who share the title role, along with Jennifer Blood (Miss Honey), Bryce Ryness (Miss Trunchbull), John Sanders (Mr. Wormwood), and Ora Jones (Mrs. Phelps).
