Anna D. Shapiro directs the new comedy at Broadway’s Cort Theatre.
Larry David's Fish in the Dark, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, will extend its limited engagement for an additional two weeks through August 1 at the Cort Theatre. The announcement marks the second and final extension for the production, which began performances on February 2 and opened March 5. Jason Alexander leads the cast in the role of Norman Drexel, which was originated by David.
Fish in the Dark is a comedy about a death in the family that also stars Glenne Headly, Rosie Perez, Jayne Houdyshell, Ben Shenkman, Lewis J. Stadlen, Jake Cannavale, Marylouise Burke, Jerry Adler, Jenn Lyon, Jonny Orsini, Molly Ranson, Maria Elena Ramirez, Rachel Resheff, Joel Rooks, Jeff Still, Kenneth Tigar, and Richard Topol.
The creative team includes Todd Rosenthal (scenic design), Ann Roth (costume design), Brian MacDevitt (lighting design), David Yazbek (original music), Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen (sound design), and Alan D'Angerio (wig design). Scott Rudin and Lloyd Braun serve as lead producers.
"Thrilling news!" exclaimed Larry David when he was told about the extension. "I've got a good mind to go out and buy some new sneakers."
