Keith Huff’s Tell Us of the Night to Receive Chicago Dramatists Reading

Keith Huff’s Tell Us of the Night will get a staged reading at Chicago Dramatists on October 17. Kimberly Senior will direct.

The piece focuses on two over-worked homicide detectives who do all they can to close the puzzling murder of a CTA employee. The play, along with The Detective’s Wife rounds out a trilogy of Chicago cop plays that began with A Steady Rain,, which was originally produced by Chicago Dramatists and which has just begun previews on Broadway with Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig.

The reading of Huff’s play is part of Chicago Dramatists’ Saturday Series, which offers weekly public readings of scripts in development. Other plays slated for the program this fall iclude Postscript by Joshua Robin (September 12), They All Fall Down by Mark Young (September 19), The Invasion of Skokie by Steven Peterson (September 26), Twelve by Ron Hirsen (October 3), Points of Possession by Susan Lieberman (October 10), Stephen’s Psalm by Lisa Rosenthal (October 31), Musica Mundana by M.E.H. Lewis (November 11), and Zero Hour by Roger Rueff (November 18).
