Florencia Lozano and Alfredo Narciso will join the previously reported Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Kathleen Chalfant in Alexander Dinelaris’ play, Red Dog Howls, which will begin previews at New York Theatre Workshop on September 5, with an opening on September 24. Ken Rus Schmoll will direct.
In the play, a box of old letters and a father’s dying wish leads Michael Kiriakos to dig up the buried memories of his hidden family history. After meeting Rose, his father’s now-elderly pen pal, Michael slowly learns of a past he never knew existed, one of exile, sacrifice, and, ultimately, redemption.
Dinelaris’ other work include Still Life, Zanna, Dont!, and The Chaos Theories.
