X Factor winner Shayne Ward will play the jaded rock star Stacee Jaxx and Justin Lee Collins will play club owner Dennis Dupree in the West End production of Rock of Ages, which will begin performances on September 27 at the Shaftesbury Theatre, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com.
No other casting has been announced.
The musical, with a book by Chris D’Arenzio, focuses on a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl who meet in 1987 at a legendary Hollywood club facing its imminent demise. The score includes the hit songs of iconic rockers like REO Speedwagon, Journey, Styx, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more.
The Broadway production, playing at the Helen Hayes Theatre, has been directed by Kristin Hanggi and features choreography by Kelly Devine.
