Grammy and Emmy Award winner John McDaniel will be the special guest arranger for upcoming shows by singing group The Midtown Men as they premiere the symphonic version of the act’s 2012/2013 “Sixties Hits” tour with the Houston Symphony, August 31- September 2.

The group — all original cast members of the Broadway hit Jersey Boys — includes Tony Award winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and Tony nominee J. Robert Spencer.

McDaniel is the renowned music director and arranger whose credits include the Tony Awards, Broadway productions of Grease and Chicago, and countless concert appearances with Cab Calloway, Shirley McLaine, Tyne Daly and other luminaries.

Conductor Michael Krajewski will preside over an 85-piece symphony for these Labor Day weekend performances, featuring classic hits from the 1960s rock n’ roll scene including “California Dreamin’,” “Happy Together, “Up on the Roof,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” and more. This evening of iconic songs was also orchestrated by composer/pianist George Maurer.
