The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture has announced programming for its 2016-17 season.
The Sheen will present the New York premiere of Bill Cain's thriller 9 Circles, running February 21-March 19. Directed by Kent Nicholson, the work is inspired by the Dante's Inferno and centers on Daniel Reeves, a soldier who is arrested and prosecuted for acts that he may have committed while serving in the U.S. Army during the Iraq War.
The season will also include An Evening with John Lithgow (April 30), Latin Broadway Party!, a concert hosed by On Your Feet! star Andréa Burns featuring a band led by Kurt Crowley (March 20); a concert by Michael Cerveris and His Accomplices (March 16), and An Evening with John Patrick Shanley (April 3).
Also on the docket is Frog & Peach Theatre Company’s version of Macbeth in the Black Box theater (Jan 19-Feb 12); the World War II drama Luft Gangster directed by Austin Pendleton (March 31-April 23); Hamilet starring Tony nominee Arian Moayed (May 5-June 3), and '"Death Comes for the War Poets'' by Joseph Pearce, presented by Blackfriars Repertory Theatre (Jun 9-24).
