Jim Dale and Faith Prince will announce nominations for the 54th Annual Drama Desk Awards on Monday, April 27 at the New York Friars Club, at 9 am.
The occasion will also include remarks by Drama Desk President William Wolf, Drama Desk Awards Executive Producer Robert R. Blume, Nominating Committee Chairperson Barbara Siegel, and Drama Desk Director of Special Events Randie Levine-Miller.
As previously announced, the awards ceremony will be held at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center, on Sunday, May 17, at 9 pm, directed by Jeff Kalpak. The awards show will be webcast live for the seventh year in a row by TheaterMania.com.
Prince won Drama Desk and Tony Awards for Guys and Dolls, and received Tony and Drama Desk nominations for her performance in A Catered Affair last season. She will soon join the Broadway company of The Little Mermaid in the role of Ursula. Dale won the Tony Award for Barnum and has a total of four Drama Desk Awards, also winning for Scapino, Travels With My Aunt, and Threepenny Opera.
In addition to Siegel, the Drama Desk nominating committee also includes TheaterMania’s managing editor Dan Bacalzo, Christopher Byrne, Patrick Christiano, Jason Clark, Gerard Raymond, and Richard Ridge.
