Numerous stage stars will be represented in the films premiering at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, to run May 16-27.
Edward Norton stars in the festival’s opener, Wes Anderson’s Moonshine Kingdom; Brad Pitt and James Gandolfini co-star in Andrew Dominik’s Killing Me Softly; Jessica Chastain co-stars with Tom Hardy in John Hillcoat’s Lawless, and Juliette Binoche, Samantha Morton, and Paul Giamatti appear alongside Robert Pattinson in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis.
Oscar winner and Broadway veteran Nicole Kidman will be seen in two films: Lee Daniels’ The Paperboy opposite Zac Efron, and Philip Kaufman’s Hemingway and Gelhorn with Clive Owen — in which she plays Martha Gelhorn, Ernest Hemingway’s wife — which is being shown out of competition.
