Mystic Pizza: A New Musical National Tour Announces Principal Cast

Big League Productions has announced the leads for the national tour of Mystic Pizza: A New Musical. The tour kicks off on September 26 at the Clemens Center in Elmira, New York, and continues to St. Paul, Dallas, and more. Click here for a list of tour stops.

Based on the 1988 movie that launched Julia Roberts’s career, the musical depicts three best friends and their search for love and self-identity. The tour stars 2022 Jimmy Awards winner Kendall Becerra as Kat, Chloë Lezotte as Daisy, and Lexxi B Frilles as Jojo. Additional casting will be announced soon.

Jennifer Werner directs and choreographs the production. Based on the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film with story and characters by Amy Holden Jones, the musical is written by Sandy Rustin, with arrangements and orchestrations by Carmel Dean.

The creative team also includes scenic designer Joshua Warner, lighting designer Dalton Hamilton, costume designer Jen Caprio, sound designer Matt Kraus, and music supervisor Andrew Graham.

The musical originally premiered at the Ogunquit Playhouse, with subsequent productions at La Mirada Theatre, Riverside Theatre, and Paper Mill Playhouse.
