Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and producer JC Chasez, best known as a member of *NSYNC, and Golden Globe-winning songwriter, producer, and composer Jimmy Harry have announced their new musical theater concept album, Playing With Fire, inspired by Mary Shelly’s novel Frankenstein.
Chasez is also featured as a vocalist alongside singers Cardamon Rozzi and Lily Elise on the album, which is set for release through Center Stage Records on October 25.
Featuring 16 original tracks, Playing With Fire came to fruition when Harry presented Chasez the script of his late mother Barbara Field’s theatrical adaptation of Shelley’s story. Chasez was immediately intrigued with the play, and work on it immediately began, resulting in a reimagining that constructs a conversation between Frankenstein and his creation, the Creature, at the grave of Frankenstein’s wife, Elizabeth, 10 years after her death.
