Jarrod Emick and Lauren Kennedy will star in Flat Rock Playhouse‘s production of Frank Wildhorn and Jack Murphy’s new musical Zelda: An American Love Story, running October 3-28. The production is directed by Vincent Marini.
The Jazz Age musical, set in Asheville, North Carolina, is loosely based on the life of novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald (Emick) and his relation with his troubled wife Zelda (Kennedy). The production will feature choreography by Tony Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler and arrangements by Ron Melrose.

Kennedy’s Broadway credits include Monty Python’s Spamalot, Side Show, Sunset Boulevard, and Les Misérables. Emick won a Tony Award for his performance in Damn Yankees. Other Broadway credits include The Rocky Horror Show, The Boy From Oz, and Ring of Fire.
