Irish Rep has announced an additional extension for its 20th Anniversary production of Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa, which will now play on the company’s Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage through January 29. Charlotte Moore has directed the piece, which has choreography by Barry McNabb.

Winner of the 1992 Tony Award for Best Play, the work summons back the memories of the end of the summer of 1936 on the eve of the celebration of the Harvest God, Lugh. It centers around the five unmarried Mundy sisters who live in a modest Irish cottage in Donegal.

The company features Orlagh Cassidy, Kevin Collins, Michael Countryman, Annabel Hägg, Jo Kinsella, Aedín Moloney, Ciarán O’Reilly, and Rachel Pickup.

The creative team includes Antje Ellerman (scenic design), Linda Fisher (costume design), Richard Pilbrow and Michael Gottlieb (lighting design), Ryan Rumery and Christian Frederickson (original music), and M. Florian Staab (sound design).
