Producers Daryl Roth, Elizabeth Ireland McCann, and Cody Lassen have announced that Paula Vogel's Indecent will take the Cort Theatre when it premieres on Broadway in the spring. As previously announced, preview performances are set to begin in early April 2017 before its April 18 opening.

The production is a transfer of the Vineyard Theatre production, which ran off-Broadway earlier this year in association with La Jolla Playhouse and Yale Repertory Theatre.

Cocreated and directed by Rebecca Taichman, the play with music is inspired by the controversial Broadway debut of Sholem Asch's 1923 play God of Vengeance. Some saw it as a seminal work of Jewish culture, and others as an act of traitorous libel.

Casting is still set to be announced. The off-Broadway company was made up of Katrina Lenk (Once), Mimi Lieber (Act One), Max Gordon Moore (Relatively Speaking), Tom Nelis (The Visit), Steven Rattazzi (The Fourth Sister), Richard Topol (Fish in the Dark), and Adina Verson (Him).

The production's creative team includes David Dorfman (choreographer), Aaron Halva and Lisa Gutkin (music directors and co-composers), Riccardo Hernandez (scenic designer), Emily Rebholz (costume designer), Chris Akerlind (lighting designer), Matt Hubbs (sound designer), and Tal Yarden (projection designer).
