The show will be part of the Public Theater’s new season.

The hit West End musical The Curious Case of Benjamin Button will make its New York debut this fall at the Public Theater, running October 8-November 15.
Written by Jethro Compton and Darren Clark, this Olivier Award-winning musical adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald story is directed by Compton, with choreography by Chi-San Howard. Set in a Cornish fishing village, it tells the story of Benjamin Button, a man who ages in reverse. Fitzgerald’s short story has been adapted for the stage for 15 actor-musicians by Compton and Clark, with the piece receiving three glowing reviews from WhatsOnStage – amounting to a maximum of 15 stars. Playing at the Ambassadors Theatre from 2024 to 2025, the show won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical, alongside two other prizes.
Leading off the Public season is Jacob Ming-Trent’s How Shakespeare Saved My Life (September 15-October 18), directed by Tony Taccone; Taylor Mac and Matt Ray’s Songs from Bark of Millions at the Delacorte Theater (September 18-20); and Ryan J. Haddad’s Good Time Charlie, directed by Danny Sharron (September 24-October 18).

Sanders (Richard). Plus, Jessie Austrian will direct the Fiasco Theater production of Susan Glaspell’s The Verge, starring Miriam Silverman (October 27-November 22).
