Simon Stone directs the production at the Park Avenue Armory.

Following his Obie Award-winning take on Federico García Lorca’s Yerma, director and dramatist Simon Stone will return to Park Avenue Armory with the North American premiere of his adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard, reimagined in modern-day South Korea.
The play, running September 14-25, 2026, features a Korean ensemble, including Doyeon Jeon, winner of Best Actress at the 60th Cannes Film Festival for Secret Sunshine, and Haesoo Park, Emmy-nominated for his role in the TV show Squid Game.
Set in Seoul in a transparent glass house designed by architect Saul Kim, this tragicomedy offers audiences a voyeuristic view into the characters’ private lives.
