The heartbreaking comedy makes its Midwest premiere tonight.
Pocatello, begins performances at Griffin Theatre Company tonight.
Set in the small and unexceptional city of Pocatello, Idaho, the story revolves around Eddie. The Italian chain restaurant manager feels increasingly disconnected from his coworkers and family in a place that is slowly morphing into a cluster of Walmarts, Applebees, and strip malls. In the face of this daunting artificiality, Eddie and those around him struggle to create an authentic experience and forge a true community.
Samuel D. Hunter’s play will be directed by ensemble member Jonathan Berry, and it will feature Sandy Elias, Sam Guinan-Nyhart, Bob Kruse, Allie Long, Nina O’Keefe, Morgan Maher, Michael McKeough, Mechelle Moe, Becca Savoir, and Lynda Shadrake.
The creative team includes Joe Schermoly (set design), Carolyn Sullivan (costume design), Sarah Hughey (lighting design), Bradford Chapin (sound design), and Jon Ravenscroft (stage manager).
Performances will run through December 13.
