Garen Scribner has assumed the role of Jerry Mulligan in Broadway's An American in Paris, taking over from Drama Desk Award winner Robert Fairchild, who played his final performance on March 13. Scriber had previously served as Fairchild's alternate.
In An American in Paris on Broadway, Scribner stars opposite current principal cast members Leanne Cope, Veanne Cox, Jill Paice, Brandon Uranowitz, and Max von Essen, who will all continue on with the production. In addition, Dimitri Kleioris of the Royal New Zealand Ballet will begin playing the role of Jerry Mulligan at various performances the week of March 15.
An American in Paris is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Inspired by the Academy Award-winning film, the show features music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin and a book by Craig Lucas. The production officially opened April 12 at the Palace Theatre.
