Full cast and creative team have been announced for the Old Globe’s production of John Van Druten’s comedy Bell, Book, and Candle, to play the Cassius Carter Centre Stage, August 4-September 9. The production, which will open on August 9, will be directed by Darko Tresnjak.
The show will star Melinda Page Hamilton as Gillian, John Lavelle as Nicky, Adrian LaTourelle as Shep, Gregor Paslawksy as Sidney, and Deborah Taylor as Queenie.
The creative team features Alexander Dodge (sets), Emily Pepper (costumes), Matt Richards (lighting), and Paul Peterson (sound).
The play concerns a smart and independent woman who casts a love spell on her handsome young neighbor. The 1950 Broadway production starred Rex Harrison and Lilli Palmer. The show’s 1958 film version starred Kim Novak, Jimmy Stewart, Jack Lemmon, Ernie Kovacs, and Elsa Lanchester.
