The full cast and creative team have been announced for Horton Foote’s The Trip to Bountiful, which will complete the Horton Foote Festival at the Goodman Theatre, March 1-April 6. Harris Yulin will direct.
The play focuses on Mrs. Carrie Watts, an unhappy widow living in a Houston apartment with her grown son Ludie, and his wife Jessie Mae. Carrie dreams of returning to Bountiful, Texas where she grew up.
In addition to the previously announced Lois Smith as Carrie Watts, the cast will also feature Devon Abner (Ludie), Meghan Andrews (Thelma), and Hallie Foote (Jessie Mae), all of whom appeared with Smith in the 2005 revival at New York’s Signature Theatre Company, directed by Yulin. The ensemble will include Brad Armacost, Erica Elam, Stephen Georgiou, Frank Girardeau, Danny Goldring, Dean Hill, Ellen Karas, James Krag, Emily Mark, Taube Schwartz, and Kyle Warren.
The creative team will include David Cosier (set design), Martin Pakledinaz (costume design), John McKernon (lighting design), and Brett Jarvis (sound design/composer).
