The cast of The Phantom of the Opera celebrated its 11,000th performance on Tuesday. To honor the long-running Broadway production, we're going all the way back to the beginning before the show had even been seen on a New York stage. Take a look at the original 1986 London cast at Her Majesty's Theater, and listen to the songs you've come to know and love in a broadcast released a week before the Broadway opening. We doubt even The Phantom himself could have predicted the production's tremendous success.
