Fireworks, The Roots, and Stars Galore Welcome Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton to Broadway

It was an opening-night celebration like no other for Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton on Thursday, August 6. Following the performance at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, the cast and their guests, a list that included VIPS Samuel L. Jackson, Sally Field, Susan Sarandon, Busta Rhymes, and Sarah Jessica Parker, headed to Pier 60 at Chelsea Piers to dance the night away. But how do you welcome a patriotic new musical to Broadway? With a fireworks display on the Hudson River, of course. And how do you top that? By following it up with a surprise hour-long set byHamilton fans and cast-album producers The Roots. Even Miranda himself got up onstage.
