Fat Ham and POTUS to Have LA Premieres at Geffen Playhouse

The Broadway production of James Ijames’s Pulitzer winner Fat Ham will transfer to the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles in 2024. Directed by Saheem Ali and associate-directed by Sideeq Heard, the comic riff on Hamlet will run March 27-April 28 in the Gil Cates Theater, marking the play’s West Coast premiere.
Daniel K. Isaac (Billions) will star in a new production of Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe’s Every Brilliant Thing this fall. Performances will run September 6-October 15 under the direction of Colm Summers in the Kenis Theater. Also in the Kenis will be the world premiere of Kristen Adele Calhoun’s Black Cypress Bayou, directed by Tiffany Nichole Greene (February 7-March 17, 2024) and Helder Guimarães’s The Hope Theory, directed by Frank Marshall (April 25-June 9, 2024).
The season at the Geffen will also include Samuel Baum’s The Engagement Party directed by Darko Tresnjak (October 4-November 5); the Los Angeles premiere of Selina Fillinger’s POTUS (January 17-February 18, 2024), directed by Jennifer Chambers; and Mike Lew’s Tiny Father, directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel (June 12-July 14,  2024).
