EXCLUSIVE: Kate Baldwin and Gavin Creel Sing From New Andrew Lippa Musical

“Disappear” can be heard on the new Ghostlight recording of ”The Man in the Ceiling”.

Ghostlight Records will release a studio recording of The Man in the Ceiling, a new musical with a score by Andrew Lippa and book by Jules Feiffer, based on his novel. The album is available for digital download and streaming beginning April 19, with an in-store release date of June 14.

Listen to a track from the album, "Disappear," sung by Kate Baldwin and Gavin Creel, below.

In addition to Baldwin and Creel, the album will feature the vocals of composer Lippa, as well as Grady Miranda, John-Michael Lyles, and Ashley Park. It is is produced by Will Van Dyke and Lippa, with Lippa and Kurt Deutsch
serving as executive producers.

In The Man in the Ceiling, 12-year-old Jimmy Jibbett (Miranda) would rather be a successful cartoonist than in 7th grade. His father (Creel) disapproves. His mother (Baldwin) is busy. His Uncle Lester (Lippa) tries to understand but is too wrapped up trying to write a love song for his next flop musical. Where can Jimmy turn for inspiration and hope? Maybe the Man in the Ceiling can lead him to his true destiny. If only Jimmy would look up! It premiered at the Bay Street Theater in 2017.
