Emma Hunton Joins Broadway’s Spring Awakening

Sixteen-year-old actress Emma Hunton will take over the role of Ilse in the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening on Tuesday, February 19. She replaces Lauren Pritchard.

Hunton’s prior acting credits include the national tour of Les Miserables, the Mark Taper Forum’s production of Distracted, and the movie Happy Endings.

The winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Spring Awakening features music by Duncan Sheik, book and lyrics by Steven Sater, direction by Michael Mayer, and choreography by Bill T. Jones.

The current cast features Skylar Astin, Blake Bashoff, Kate Burton, Gerard Canonico, Tony Carlin, Lilli Cooper, Blake Daniel, Matt Doyle, Glenn Fleshler, Jonathan Groff, Brian Charles Johnson, Frances Mercanti-Anthony, Lea Michele, Eryn Murman, Alexandra Socha, Phoebe Strole, Jesse Swenson, Jenna Ushkowitz, Jonathan B. Wright, and Remy Zaken.
