
Additional details have been announced for Shakespeare’s Globe‘s 2010 season, which has the title Kings and Rogues.
The season will open with Lucy Bailey’s production of Macbeth (April 23-June 27), which will star Elliot Cowan in the title role and Laura Rogers as Lady Macbeth.
It will be followed by Mark Rosenblatt’s production of Henry VIII (May 15-August 21) starring Dominic Rowan; Dominic Dromgoole’s productions of Henry IV Part 1 (June 5-October 2) and Henry IV Part 2 (July 3-October 3), starring Jamie Parker and William Gaunt; and a revival of Christopher Luscombe’s 2008 staging of The Merry Wives of Windsor (August 14 -October 2).
The Globe will also present two new plays: Howard Brenton’s Anne Boleyn (July 24-August 21), which will be directed by John Dove; and Nell Leyshon’s Bedlam (September 5-October 1), a fictional portrayal of a London hospital for the insane.
