Alanis Morissette’s world-premiere musical finds its first cast members.
The American Repertory Theater has confirmed initial casting for its upcoming production of Jagged Little Pill, a new musical featuring the songs of Alanis Morissette.
Leading the cast will be Elizabeth Stanley (On the Town), along with Laurel Harris (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Logan Hart (The Book of Mormon), Nora Schell (Spamilton), and Sophie Menas, all of whom performed selections from the musical at the A.R.T.'s gala on March 5.
Directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus, Jagged Little Pill will feature a book by Oscar winner Diablo Cody, music by Alanis Morissette and Glen Ballard, lyrics by Alanis Morissette, and choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. The show is based on Morissette's album Jagged Little Pill and will incorporate '90s anthems including "Ironic," "You Oughta Know," and "Hand in My Pocket."
Performances will run May 5-June 30 at the Loeb Drama Center.
