Broadway star Elizabeth Rodriguez has joined the cast of NBC’s new drama series Prime Suspect, according to a report on Deadline.com.
The show, adapted from a British TV series of the same name, focuses on Jane Timoney (to be played by Maria Bello), a female detective working a male-dominated precinct in New York City. Rodriguez will play another female detective on the force.
As previously reported, the show will also feature stage veterans Brian F. O’Byrne and Aidan Quinn.
Rodriguez is currently starring in Stephen Adly Guirgis’ The Motherf**ker with the Hat, for which she received a 2011 Tony Award nomination and the 2011 Outer Critics Circle Award. Among her other stage credits are Unconditional, A View from 151st Street, Beauty of the Father, and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot off-Broadway.
