Drew Lachey, Tom Alan Robbins, and John Tartaglia will star in a staged reading of the musical Plop, to be held on Monday, May 7 at 1pm and 5pm. Anthony J. Cantalupo will direct.
Featuring book, music, and lyrics by Damon Intrabartolo, the show centers on an emotionally bankrupt record producer, who meets a musically talented group of boys, and starts the “boy band” trend, eventually amassing total world domination and industrialization of pop culture.
The reading features music supervision by Ethan Popp, vocal arrangements by Ethan Popp & Bryan Crook/Special Guest Music Productions. Rob J. Killenberger is the sound engineer.
Lachey was a member of the boy band 98 Degreees, and also a past winner of Dancing With the Stars. Robbins’ Broadway credits include The Lion King, Is He Dead?, and Once Upon a Mattress. Targaglia received a Tony nomination for Avenue Q, with other Broadway credits including Beauty and the Beast and Shrek the Musical.
The reading is open to the public, but reservations are required. The location of the reading will be disclosed after the reservation is confirmed. To RSVP, contact info@cantontheatrical.com.
