Dr. Seward's Dracula begins performances tonight at First Folio Theatre.
Picking up just after the end of Bram Stoker’s tale of the Prince of Darkness, Dr. Seward's Dracula follows Seward as he tries to explain multiple dead bodies to the police now that Dracula is dead. The more Seward tries to plead his case, the less sure he becomes not just of his own tale, but also of his own sanity. Alison C. Vesely directs from Joseph Zettelmaier's script.
The cast is led by Christian Gray (The Madness of Edgar Allen Poe) as Dr. Seward. He is joined by Craig Spidle (Twelfth Night) as Inspector Carlysle, Elizabeth Stenholt (Love Kills) as Emily Covington, Joe Stearns (The Half-Brothers Mendelssohn) as Bram Stoker, and Ted Kitterman (Les Misérables) as the Strange Man.
The artistic team includes Melanie Keller (assistant director), Michael Goldberg (movement director), Angie Weber Miller (scenic and costume design), Greg Freeman (lighting design), and Chris Kriz (original music and sound design).
Performances run through November 6.
