The Doorway Arts Ensemble has announced the productions set for its 2011-2012 season. For the second year, DAE will be joining forces to co-produce the Arts Alive Theatre Series in the Cultural Arts Center at Silver Spring with Artistic Director, Perry T. Schwartz.
The season will open with two new works: the comedy Sex and Education, October 28-November 20, by Lissa Levin and Hercules in Russia, February 10-March 4, by Allyson Currin.
The Doorway Arts Ensemble will also continue its national play-writing competition Extraordinary Battlegrounds, challenging writers to create works that weave riveting and compelling stories that unfold on a battleground. Staged readings of the selected new works will be professionally directed and developed and presented November 7-February 27. Staged readings and post-production discussions will be free and open to the public.
