Donna Murphy to Return to Hello, Dolly! for Six Performances

Two-time Tony winner Donna Murphy will return to the Broadway revival of Hello, Dolly! to play six performances as the title character during Bette Midler's return engagement.

Midler's six-week run in the show begins July 17. Murphy will play the following performances: Sunday, July 22 at 3pm; Sunday, July 29 at 3pm; Sunday, August 5 at 3pm; Sunday, August 12 at 3pm; Sunday, August 19 at 3pm; and Monday, August 20 at 7pm.

Midler's return engagement will also serve as the return of her Tony-nominated leading man, David Hyde Pierce. Bernadette Peters and Victor Garber, the production's current stars, will conclude their run on July 15. The production will end its Broadway run at the Shubert Theatre on August 25.

Directed by Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, Hello, Dolly! began previews March 15, 2017, and opened on April 20, 2017. Based on Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker, Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman's Hello, Dolly! premiered on Broadway in 1964, starring Carol Channing in the title role. This production received the 2017 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, as well as Tonys for Midler and Gavin Creel's performances.
