Debbie Does Dallas, the Off-Broadway musical based on the porn film classic of the same name, has announced that it will close on Saturday, February 15. At the time of its closing, the show will have played 22 previews and 126 performances at the Jane Street Theatre.
This comedic, innuendo-laden, stage musical version of the film Debbie Does Dallas was conceived by Susan L. Schwartz and adapted and directed by Erica Schmidt. Music for the show, which recently released a cast recording on Sh-K-Boom Records, was provided by Andrew Sherman and Tom Kitt.
A hit at the NYC Fringe Festival in 2001, Debbie was revamped for this Off-Broadway production, which initially starred Sherie René Scott (The Last Five Years, Aida) as the high school senior willing to go all out to realize her dream of being a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader; Jamie Day recently took over the role of Debbie following Scott’s departure. Rounding out the current cast are Mary Catherine Garrison, Caitlin Miller, Tricia Paoluccio, and Jama Williamson as Debbie’s cheerleading pals, and Ken Barnett, Del Pentecost, and Jeff Skowron as the men who lust after them.
Tickets for Debbie Does Dallas are $25-35 and may be purchased by phoning TeleCharge at 212-239-6200.
