The new horror drama is based on the film series.

Full casting has been announced for the Broadway run of Levi Holloway’s new horror play Paranormal Activity, beginning performances at the August Wilson Theatre on Friday, August 14. Opening night is September 15.
An original work written for the stage (as opposed to being an adaptation of the film), Paranormal Activity is the story of a young American couple who move to the UK to recover from a mysterious ordeal in Chicago, only to discover that their terror has followed them. It is directed by Felix Barrett, artistic director of Punchdrunk and one of the creators of Sleep No More.
Paranormal Activity will star Cher Álvarez as Lou, Travis A. Knight as James, Shannon Cochran as Carolanne, and Andrea Syglowski as Etheline Cotgrave, with understudies Caron Buinis, Caroline Hendricks, and Michael Holding.
Álvarez, Knight, Cochran, Buinis, Hendricks, and Holding make their Broadway debuts with the production, reprising roles they played across North America. They will also star in the pre-Broadway engagement July 11-30 at the Emerson Colonial in Boston.
Paranormal Activity had previous runs at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Center Theater Group, Shakespeare Theatre Company, and American Conservatory Theater. Simultaneous runs in the West End, Toronto, and a tour of the UK and Ireland will also take place this summer.
Illusions are by Tony Award winner Chris Fisher (Stranger Things: The First Shadow). The creative team also includes scenic and costume designer Fly Davis, lighting designer Anna Watson, sound designer Gareth Fry, and video and projections designer Luke Halls.
Of the production, our critic said, “the eerie ghost tale relies on special effects and mood to make audience members scream, faint, and jump into their partner’s lap.”
