The San Diego theater will present Jonathan Tolins’ hit solo comedy.
Broadway veteran David Turner (On a Clear Day You Can See Forever) will star in Jonathan Tolins' hit one-man comedy Buyer & Cellar at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre. Directed by Ron Lagomarsino, the production is scheduled to run from April 4-May 3 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe’s Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.
Buyer & Cellar tells the story of Alex More, an unemployed actor who gets the unusual job of manning Barbra Streisand's personal shopping mall, which is located in her basement. The role of Alex was originated in New York by Michael Urie.
The creative team for Buyer & Cellar includes Erik Flatmo (scenic design), Charlotte Devaux (costume design), Philip S. Rosenberg (lighting design), and Lindsay Jones (original music and sound design).
Turner's Broadway credits also include Arcadia, Sunday in the Park With George, The Ritz, In My Life, and The Invention of Love. He has also been seen in The Last Sunday in June, Gutenberg! The Musical, and The Good Person of Szechwan, among other shows. He is the recipient of two Helen Hayes Award nominations and BMI’s Jerry Harrington Musical Theater Award for songwriting.
