Darren Criss, Christopher Jackson, and More Join Broadway Backwards

Additional casting has been announced for Broadway Backwards, an annual event produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and benefiting Broadway Cares and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City. This year's show, hosted by Tony nominee Jenn Colella (Come From Away) will be held on Monday, March 11 at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
Broadway Backwards features the great songs of musical theater with a twist: men sing songs originally intended for women, and vice versa. The lineup of performers now includes Darren Criss (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story), Lea DeLaria (Orange is the New Black), Tony winner Rosemary Harris (My Fair Lady), Tony nominee Christopher Jackson (Hamilton), Nicole Vanessa Ortiz (Smokey Joe's Cafe), Tony winner Alice Ripley (Next to Normal), Alexandra Silber (Fiddler on the Roof), Ana Villafañe (On Your Feet!), and Teal Wicks (The Cher Show).
They join the previously announced Clyde Alves, Tony winner Len Cariou, Lilli Cooper, Tony winner Gavin Creel, Tony nominee Ariana DeBose, Nathan Lee Graham, Robyn Hurder, Caitlin Kinnunen, Caissie Levy, Isabelle McCalla, Tony winner Donna McKechnie, Bonnie Milligan, Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth, two-time Tony nominee Andrew Rannells, Tony nominee Jarrod Spector, Tony nominee Kathleen Turner, and the Grammy Award-nominated Broadway Inspirational Voices. Performers are subject to change.
Creator Robert Bartley will return to direct the show. He will be joined by Mary-Mitchell Campbell as music supervisor and Ted Arthur and Christopher D. Littlefield as music directors, with Jeff Brancato as production stage manager. The show will be choreographed by Bartley and Robbie Roby, with additional musical numbers staged by Paul McGill, Mimi Quillin, Stephen Reed, and Tony Yazbeck.
