Adam Heller and Tom Souhrada star in James Hindman’s new two-hander.
The cast and creative team of James Hindman's Popcorn Falls met the press on Thursday, September 6.
Directed by two-time Tony winner Christian Borle, who makes his New York directorial debut, the production begins performances September 14 ahead of an October 8 opening at the Davenport Theatre.
Popcorn Falls features Adam Heller (It Shoulda Been You) and Tom Souhrada (Desperate Measures), performing over 20 roles in under 90 minutes. The creative team includes scenic design by Timothy Mackabee, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, costume design by Joseph La Corte, and original music composed by Jeffrey Lodin.
Popcorn Falls is described as follows: "Welcome to Popcorn Falls, a small American town, whose only claim to fame — their namesake waterfall — has dried up. Now bankrupt, their last chance is a large grant that can only be used if the town produces a play in a week. One big problem: ain't no playhouse. Another problem? Ain't no play. Led by the Mayor and the local handyman, the enterprising townsfolk try to rise to the challenge and prove that art can change the world."
