Broadway Venture Capital Fund and executive producers Richard Frankel and Joe Watson have announced that Chick Flick the Musical, a new musical comedy with book, music, and lyrics by Suzy Conn (The Mercer Girls), will play a limited engagement at the Westside Theatre beginning February 21, with opening night set for March 7.

Chick Flick the Musical, according to a press release, "invites you to join Karen, Dawn, Sheila, and Meg as they get together to unwind, watch a chick flick, and play their favorite drinking game. As the festivities proceed and the tequila flows, can the power of meet cutes and makeover montages save the day as relationship drama and career crises bubble to the surface? Celebrating the healing power of sisterhood, laughter, and life lessons from the movies we know and love, Chick Flick the Musical is ultimately about life's greatest love story: friendship."

Casting will be announced in the coming weeks. David Ruttura will direct, with choreography by Sarah O'Gleby. Matt Castle will be the musical director, and Castle and Frank Galgano will be the orchestrators and arrangers. The rest of the creative team will include Jason Sherwood (scenic design), Tony Award winner Jeff Croiter (lighting design), Suzy Benzinger (costume design), and Peter Fitzgerald (sound design).
