Cherry Lane Theatre has announced that Craig muMs Grant, Taylor Mac, and Martyna Majok will participate as mentors as part of the 21st season of the Obie Award-winning Mentor Project.

This year's playwriting mentees will be announced at an Announcement Event on December 3 at Cherry Lane, and the Mentor Project will culminate with three fully staged productions presented February 20, 2019-April 13, 2019.

Each year the Mentor Project partners an emerging author with a seasoned professional for a year of script work, rewrites, casting, rehearsals and a full production at Cherry Lane. Mentor Project is also the recipient of the James Kirkwood Award for American Playwrights.

"We are thrilled to welcome these three outstanding artists as mentors in our 21st season," said Cherry Lane Theatre's artistic director Seri Lawrence in a statement. "Each is singular for the extraordinary innovation and uniqueness of spirit they bring to American drama. As role models to the next generation, they are perfect mentors for this program that encourages emerging playwrights to embrace their own artistic freedom to imagine bold new works for the stage."
