Ben Chaplin, Colin Firth, Rebecca Hall, and Fiona Shaw will be among the cast of Dorian Gray, Oliver Parker’s big-screen adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, according to Variety.
The film, which is scheduled for a 2009 release, will feature Ben Barnes in the title role. The supporting cast will also feature Emilia Fox, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Maryam d’Abo, Pip Torrens, Douglas Henshall, Caroline Goodall, Michael Culkin, Johnny Harris, and Max Irons.
Parker previously directed film versions of Wilde’s An Ideal Husband and The Importance of Being Earnest, as well as a critically acclaimed version of Othello starring Laurence Fishburne, Kenneth Branagh, and Irene Jacob.
