The event will pay tribute to the musicals the company has presented over the past 26 seasons.
The Irish Repertory Theatre will bid a brief farewell to its performance space at 132 W 22nd St. on Thursday, September 4, with a concert titled Meet Me at the Square, a tribute to the musicals of its past 26 seasons.
Meet Me at the Square will feature performances by Kerry Conte, Patrick Cummings, Danielle Ferland, Beth Fowler, Bonnie Fraser, Jessica Grove, Rita Harvey, Kristin Huxhold, Mary Illes, Elizabeth Inghram, Donna Kane, Chad Kimball, Kerry O'Malley, Jenny Powers, Ciaran Sheehan, David Staller, and Max Von Essen. Shows represented will include The Irish…and How They Got That Way, Donnybrook, Finian’s Rainbow, Meet Me in St. Louis, After the Ball, Take Me Along, Ernest in Love, and The Streets of New York.
Arranged by Irish Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Charlotte Moore, Meet Me at the Square features music direction by John Bell and Mark Hartman. The band includes Mioi Takeda (violin), Melanie Mason (cello), Jeremy Clayton (woodwinds), and Joy Plaisted (harp).
The Irish Repertory Theater's current space will subsequently undergo a top-to-bottom renovation. Its latest season will be presented at the DR2 Theatre near Union Square.
