The stars will come out during the day on Wednesday, June 4 to mark the end of the 2002-2003 theater season at the annual “Stars in the Alley” concert in Shubert Alley.
Among the Broadway notables scheduled to perform are Tom Cavanagh (who recently joined the cast of Urinetown), Frenchie Davis (who recently joined the cast of Rent), Harvey Fierstein (Hairspray), Sutton Foster (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Deborah Gibson (Cabaret), Mark Linn-Baker (A Year With Frog and Toad), Brian Stokes Mitchell (Man of La Mancha), Bernadette Peters (Gypsy), Louise Pitre (Mamma Mia!), Marissa Jaret Winokur (Hairspray), and Tom Wopat (42nd Street). The annual Star Award will be presented to Mayor Michael Bloomberg. And Jed Bernstein, president of the League of American Theatres and Producers, will share the end-of-season financial tallies.
The 50-minute concert is free and open to the public; it will begin at 11:30am, but early arrival is encouraged.
