Stage and screen star Cate Blanchett and her husband, playwright and director Andrew Upton, will depart their positions as co-artistic directors of Sydney Theatre Company.
The company is looking for a replacement for the couple, who served their expected two terms.
Blanchett’s international star status is credited for boosting the company’s international reputation, with the actress headlining U.S. tours of STC shows including Hedda Gabler (Read TM’s review), A Streetcar Named Desire (Read TM’s review), and Uncle Vanya (Read TM’s review).
