Carrie: The Musical Returns to Los Angeles

Carrie: The Musical will return to Los Angeles this October, following its run at La Mirada Theatre this past spring. The show is now slated for a run at the Los Angeles Theatre beginning October 1 in advance of an October 8 opening.

Directed by Brady Schwind and choreographed by Lee Martino, the production features an immersive staging that puts audiences in the middle of the action.

Carrie features a score by Michael Gore and Dean Pitchford and a book by Lawrence D. Cohen. Adapted from the 1974 horror novel by Stephen King, the musical tells the story of 17-year-old Carrie White, who is terrorized by her high school classmates and her fanatically religious mother. After becoming the victim of a prom-night prank, Carrie uses her newly discovered telekinetic powers to wreak havoc on those who have done her wrong.

"We are absolutely thrilled that theater-goers in Los Angeles will now get the chance to discover Brady Schwind’s unique and dynamic vision of our musical Carrie and its amazing cast," said creators Gore, Pitchford, and Cohen. "In particular, we’re excited by this immersive approach that makes the experience so visceral and emotional — and, at the same time, such enormous fun."

The creative team includes musical direction by Brian P. Kennedy, musical supervision by Adam Wachter, scenic design by Stephen Gifford, costume design by Adriana Lambarri, lighting design by Brian Gale, sound design by Cricket Myers, illusion design by Jim Steinmeyer, aerial design by Paul Rubin, props design by Terry Hanrahan, and hair design by Katie McCoy.
