Carradine, d’Arcy James, Kind Will Join Cast of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Keith Carradine and Brian d’Arcy James will take over the roles of Lawrence Jameson and Freddy Benson in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels on July 20. They will replace current stars Jonathan Pryce and Norbert Leo Butz, both of whom will play their last performance on July 16.

In addition, Richard Kind will take over the role of Andre on August 3 from Gregory Jbara. Sherie Rene Scott will return as Christine Colgate on June 20, taking the role back from her replacement, Rachel York. Lucie Arnaz will continue in the part of Muriel, which she began playing last month, and Sara Gettelfinger will stay on as oil heiress Jolene Oakes.

Carradine received a Tony Award nomination for his perfomance in the title role of The Will Rogers Follies. He won an Academy Award for writing the song “I’m Easy” for the film Nashville, in which he starred. D’Arcy James, who is currently appearing on Broadway in The Lieutenant of Inishmore, received a Tony nomination for Sweet Smell of Success; he has also appeared on Broadway in Titanic and Off-Broadway in The Pavilion, The Good Thief, and The Wild Party. Kind, who has starred on Broadway in The Producers, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, and Sly Fox, is well known for his work on the TV series Spin City and Mad About You.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is directed by Jack O’Brien. The show opened on Broadway on March 3, 2005 and was nominated for 11 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Choreography. Butz won a Tony for his performance as Freddy Benson.
