Lottery entries for $37 tickets will be accepted at the box office beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance, with names drawn at random two hours before curtain. This new policy replaces a general rush system that found potential audience members sleeping outside the theater to be first in line when the box office opened.
Inspired by the 2005 British film of the same title, Kinky Boots stars 2013 Tony Award winner Billy Porter as Lola, a sassy drag performer who helps rejuvenate a failing shoe factory by designing boots for his fellow drag queens. The company is also led by Tony nominees Stark Sands and Annaleigh Ashford. Two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell directs and choreographs the new musical, which is produced by Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig.
A line for cancellation tickets will begin after the lottery ends. Standing room tickets, for $27 will also be available, but only when the performance is completely sold out.
