Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck’s play, starring two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Katie Holmes (All My Sons), will play its final performance on January 6, two months after opening at Broadway’s Music Box Theatre. When the cast takes its final bow, Dead Accounts will have massed 44 non-preview performances.
The play, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien (Hairspray), follows a man named Jack (Butz) who unexpectedly returns home to his family in the Midwest, keeping his secrets close to his vest. Jack’s sister Lorna (Holmes) wonders whether his appearance is less of a homecoming and more of an escape. The family dramedy also stars screen actress Judy Greer (Arrested Development), Josh Hamilton (The Coast of Utopia), and two-time Tony Award nominee Jayne Houdyshell (Follies).
The creative team for the production features five-time Tony nominee David Rockwell (scenic design), five-time Tony winner Catherine Zuber (costume design), David Weiner (lighting design), Mark Bennett (sound design, original music), and Tom Watson (hair design).
