Bourbon Street, a new musical with music and lyrics by Greg Michael Pasqua and book by K. Gehrig, will have an industry reading on March 9 at Chelsea Studios. The production will be directed by Jonathan Cerullo and musical-directed by John McMahon.

Set against the colorful and vibrant backdrop of Mardi Gras, Bourbon Street follows a forbidden love story between a jazz composer and his mysterious muse as he makes a Faustian deal to keep his passionate romance alive. A romantic fantasy, Bourbon Street is a new musical about eternal love and its creation of art at all costs.

Tony Award nominee Brenda Braxton (Chicago) will lead the cast, alongside Tally Sessions (Big Fish), Bernard Dotson (Ragtime), Adrian Bailey (Smokey Joe's Cafe), Tina Fabrique, Mick Bleyer, Brian Cali, Angelica Salem, and Vanessa Wendt.

Pasqua and Gehrig are members of the BMI/Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop. Bourbon Street was a finalist for this year’s TRU musical reading series.
