Grammy Award winner Brandy Norwood has extended her Broadway-debut run as Roxie Hart in Chicago through August 2. The singer was originally scheduled for an eight-week engagement at the Ambassador Theatre from April 28-June 21.

In addition to Brandy, Chicago currently stars Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Latin-American star Marco Zunino as Billy Flynn (through June 14), Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. This long-running revival is directed by Walter Bobbie.

Brandy's many hits include "I Wanna Be Down" and "The Boy Is Mine." As an actress, she starred in the sitcom Moesha and the Disney television film adaptation of Cinderella in the title role. She received a 2014 NAACP Image Award for her role as Chardonnay on BET's The Game.
